Time Embassy was targeted especially during the morning rush hour as to maximize the damage. The suicide bomber targeted the entering diplomatic vehicle in which Defense attaché Brig R.D. Mehta and counselor V. Venkateswara Rao were sitting. Visa seekers, nearby shopkeepers and the security staff bore the brunt of the terror strike. Causality figure kept on mounting as some of the critically wounded died later on. It was the alert security guards who thwarted the major catastrophe. Intelligence Indian intelligence had already warned about the suspected attack and it was only because of the intelligence input that security of the embassy had been beefed up. Raw had already warned that some elements in Pakistan are not happy with India’s rising presence in Afghanistan and they had planned to attack some vital installation with the help of Taliban. Agency had also informed that attack can happen in the first week of July and it also proved right. Afghanistan government has said that this attack indicates the hand of some foreign Intelligence agency. It must be recalled that Afghan President had threatened to send troops across the Pakistan border.

Reasons India is one of the main countries that have aided Afghanistan for the development of the Infrastructure. Some elements in Pakistan are not at ease with India’s presence in middle-east. India and Pakistan has fought three wars and now Afghanistan is becoming another battle ground. India’s presence in Afghanistan has always been viewed by Pakistan with suspicion. When India sent 300 ITBP personal for the security of the Indians working in various development projects, Pakistan’s suspicion has grown more. On the other hand Taliban has denied the attack.

Tremor It is the political tremor that has shook the entire Indian political system that is caused by the issue of the Indo-US n-deal. Left without its repeated threats of withdrawal of support to the UPA government was in search of an appropriate moment to announce its withdrawal of the supports. It was Prime Minister who gave them the ‘green signal’ to go ahead with their decision. ‘Communication gap’ between the PM and Pranab Mukherjee provided weight for their decision of withdrawal.

Confidence Though PM is confident about the survival of the government but Congress is trying their best to increase their number of supporting MPs. Though Congress sources have repeatedly said that they have the support of required MPs to prove their majority they are not taking any chances. Left is not happy with Somnath Chaterjee who has not yet made his mind to step down from the post of Speeker. On the other hand Congress’ worries have increased as one of its MP from north-east has declined to vote in favor of its party.

Knowledge Indo-US nuclear deal has revealed the difference between the ideologies and the actual conduct of all of the political parties. Politicians are changing their sides with the passing of every moment. Samajwadi Party, which was the number one foe of the Congress, has become its friend. SP leaders are doing their best to arrange the required magical figure for the survival of the government. Though most of the politicians are ‘serious’ about the n-deal their lack of knowledge of the nuclear energy has made them the object of mockery.

Lalu Prasad Yadav ‘Rail(way)’ minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has become the ‘jail’ minister as the later has been asked to make arrangements so that the jailed MPs will be present in the Lok Sabha in support of the ruling coalition. Importance of small parties have increases many folds because both of the sides are equally balanced and only these small parties will decide the fate of the deal as well as of the government. JMM leader has got an appropriate opportunity to force the Congress to dance to his tunes. He has increased the problem of Congress   by not disclosing his stand.
