Numbers’ Game On

Saturday, 19th July, 2008

SP vs. BSP As the date of ‘judgment day’ is nearing, the battle of numbers between pro-deal and opposition is becoming fierce day by day. Both of the sides are equally balanced and not sure that which side will emerge victorious. Two UP based political parties SP and BSP will play a crucial role. One (SP) is supporting the government while the other (BSP) has decided to vote against the proposed government move. Some of the MPs of both of the parties are disgruntled with their parties. Though the Opposition and the UPA and trying to woo each other’s MPs by using ‘under table’ means SP and BSP has openly come out against each other.

Issues Congress led government is scheduled to face the trust move on July 22 in the special session of Lok Sabha that has been called after the Left’s withdrawal of support to the government on the issue of n-deal. N-deal is the issue upon which all partied should take decision that should be in favor of and best suited to the country. But all of the small parties and independent MPs are motivated by their personal and regional issues on the basis of which they have chosen their sides. Some disgruntled MPs of SP and Congress have disfigured the numbers of UPA. Some indecisive and unstable UPA partners have added more to woos of the crisis managers of the Congress.

Counting Indo-US nuclear deal will fulfill all of the energy requirements of the country. Even most of the opposition MPs has admitted that it is favor of India. But they have decided to vote according to the wishes of the decisions of their respected parties. N-deal issue has provided an opportunity to some politicians to settle their political scores. Efforts have been made to bring the jailed MPs to improve the required figures for the survival of the government. Some of the parties have stood up against the Government because it has gone ahead with the deal without reaching a consensus in the Parliament. General public is not happy with the government and it is being expected that NDA will emerge victorious in the next elections. Sensing the public mood some of the MPs of ruling party have changed their side. All these developments have forced the UPA crisis managers to count again and again.

2nd Session During the first session performance of the Indians was very lackluster as compared to the well organized and well planned game plan of the Koreans. Indians missed two golden chances of scoring goals and made many defensive lapses that resulted in Koreans scoring a goal in the seventh minute of the game. They scored their second goal in the 52nd minute of the second half. India reduced the margin in the 59th minute with Sunil’s free hit. In the 62nd minute of the match Diwakar scored the equalizer goal by converting a penalty corner.

Extra Time It was only in the extra time that the winner of the tournament could be decided. Supported by the home crowd, Indians entered into the extra time with a changed body language and confidence. Diwakar once again showed his brilliance by scoring the match wining goal with which, he also emerged as the top goal scored in the tournament. Korea’s Nam Hyan Woo scored 10 goals throughout the tournament including both of his goals scored for his team in the final.
