World Recognizes India As A Nuclear Power

Tuesday, 9th September, 2008

NSG Waiver On Saturday, September, 6 India became the first nuclear weapons power which has been allowed to do nuclear trade even without signing Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty or Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty. After three days of negotiations a Strong  45 Nuclear Suppliers Group lifted the ban on nuclear trade with India. A ban had been imposed on India after it’s 1974’s Pokharan test . It must be learnt that India has remained committed to the guidelines of  CTBT and NPT even without signing them. NSG waiver is a great victory of joint efforts of Indian and US diplomacy which is the result of India’s commitment to non-proliferation.

Co-operation NSG waiver has provided India access to full civilian nuclear co-operation with the rest of the world which will strengthen relations between India and the other powerful nations of the world. It will not open the doors for India to access the nuclear fissile material and technology but also to co-operation in these fields. Nuclear trade will bring US and several key European countries closer to India.

Environment With NSG  waiver India has become able to meet its rising energy demands without presenting any danger to the environment.  Changing environment has caused many natural calamities in all over the world. Global warming is being seen as the biggest threat to the human existence on the earth. But with the NSG waiver India can access the nuclear fuel for its reactors that produce electricity. Coal run Thermal Plants are the major source of electricity in India. Emission of gases cause global warming. But with the nuclear thermal plants India will be able to cut gas emissions which is environment friendly.

Uninterrupted Supply  India is the world’s second fastest growing economy and with the economic development, its energy requirements are also growing. India meets its energy requirements largely by importing petroleum products from the middle east. But rising fuel prices, geography of the reason, political uncertainty and regional conflicts are a big threat to uninterrupted fuel supply. Nuclear energy is the only option that can ensure uninterrupted energy supply to industry.

Thus NSG waiver has given a big boost to the industrial growth in India and has also opened big business opportunities to several nuclear states.

MNS Chief’s Marathi Love

Tuesday, 9th September, 2008

Remarks Jaya Bachchan’s remarks iterated at the Drona film promo have provided another issue to MNS Chief Raj Thackeray to show his Marathi prem(love) and once again target the Bachchan family. In the function Jaya had said ” hum UP ke log hain, hamein Hindi mein baat karni chahiye ” (we are from Uttar Pradesh and should speak in Hindi).  Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena had quickly launched a scathing attack against the Bachchan family after Jaya’s remarks. It must be learnt that Jaya Bachchan is a Samajwadi Party MP also. MNS had warned to ban Bachchan family’s films until Jaya Bachchan issued an unconditional apology. When She had apologized for her comments before some reporters then MNS leaders had rejected her apology.

Campaign All it indicates that Raj Thackeray wants to keep the issue burning because Bachchans are very favorite in India and by targeting them he will become known to most of the Indians. He is using this issue to increase his popularity at the national level. After the formation of his party his first priority has always remained to target the north-Indians living in the state of Maharashtra. He is using these tactics with the purpose of getting more support of the local inhabitants. In the last month he had launched a campaign regarding the Marathi sign boards on the Shops but had faced a stiff resistance from the shopkeepers.

Issue It has not ended only hear. On Wednesday Amitabh Bachchan’s latest flick The Last Lear had to be canceled because of the anti-Bachchan activities of Raj Thackeray’s workers. Though Jaya’s remarks were not malice or aimed to deliberate some one. It is Raj Thackeray who has, with some difficulty created an issue from a none issue to pursue as he had been lying idle for some time.

Violence Raj Thackeray’s such kind of moves only indicate that he is pursuing an agenda of expressing his hate against those to whom he wants to target. Since the creation  formation of his party he has shown his tendency and interest towards destructive activities. Though he is trying to project himself as a patriotic Indian but his activities indicate that he has become one of the biggest threat to the unity of the nation. Only those people are behind him who become over-enthusiastic to target and victimize some people just to give and outlet to their violent instincts. It will end only after some time when their boiling blood will calm down and then they will understand that they have done nothing less than the militants.

Land Issue Amarnath land row triggered wide protests in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir agitation forced the state government to revoke transfer orders and Jammu agitations forced the center government to intervene and transfer of land to the SASB. More than 40 people have died during the violent clashes between the agitators and the police. Though Jammu agitations have ended after the agreement between the agitators and government but Kashmir is still in turmoil. Kashmir has witnessed such a huge processions after the gap of 20 years.

Views
During this crisis time many prominent ’social tinkers’ and ‘political analysts’ have expressed their views that the time has reached when Indian should change its approach towards the Kashmir issue. India has always iterated that State of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country. But on the other hand a reputed ‘thinker’ has said that ‘Kashmir wants azadi (freedom) from India and India wants azadi from Kashmir. Some separatist Kashmiri groups have propagated these words as a sign of change in Indians’ approach towards Kashmir. But there are many question that no one can answer.

Questions
Can Kashmir remain independent if India succumbs to the demands of separatists when Pakistan also claims it as its own part. Displaced Pandits have always been ignored by the leaders of India as well as of Kashmir. What will happen to them. If Kashmir is declared a sovereign state then India will loose Leh and Ladakh areas also which are populated by non-Muslims who consider India as their homeland.

Division When Britishers departed India was divided on the basis of religion. Pakistan was created as a Muslim state. Muslims migrated to Pakistan and non-Muslims migrated to India. But during migration, communal clashed broke out and thousands of people had died. At present, more than 33 percent of the Indian population are Muslims. If Indian government succumbs to the demands of the separatists, no one can deny communal clashes in India. And if it happens then millions of people will die and India can not remain united in that condition. No Indian can think of such situation.

Election Time Kashmir was returning to normalcy after the initiation of peace process between India and Pakistan. Separatists had been sidelined because of it. It was PDP’s biggest political folly that provided them an issue to exploit the public emotions and they did it successfully to make their presence felt, It is the known truth that when ever it is the election time for the J&K assembly Hurriyat leaders and Militants become extra active to disrupt the electoral process.
