Item Songs According to the latest rumors Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra will appear in Shahrukh Khan’s forth coming flick ‘Billu Barber’ in an item song and will dance with him. Billu Barber is being directed by Priyadarshan. There are three item songs in the film in which Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will make special appearance. Deepika and Kareena had already been selected but there was a tie between Priyanka and Rani Mukerji. Because of Rani’s closeness with Salman Khan, SRK preferred to approach to Priyanka.

Story The story of the film revolves around the friendship of a rich superstar and his poor childhood friend Kinda, who is a barber. The story has been inspired from the Lord Krishana-Sudama friendship. SRK himself is playing the role of the superstar in the film whole Irrfan Khan is the barber. Lara Dutta is playing the main heroine’s role opposite to Irrfan. Because the story of the film demands SRK to show dancing and romancing with various heroines so three item songs have been set in the movie. First song had been shot with Kareena in the vary initial stages of the shooting and second is being shot with Deepika. And third will be shot with Priyanka Chopra.

Releases It will be Priyanka’s first item song as for as her filmy career is concerned. On the other hand, Shahrukh have performed in some item songs in various films that involves “Shakti”, “Kaal” and “Krazzy”. Priyanka’s latest releases ‘Love Story 2050’, ‘God Tussi Great Ho’, ‘and Chamku’ have not performed well at the box office. According to the critics this is the main reason that she has agreed to perform in Billu Barber. Her three films are set too be released this year. These three films are ‘Drona’, ‘Fashion’ and ‘Dostana’. In ‘Drona’ she is in the main role with her ‘Bluffmaster’ co-star Abhishekh Bachchan.In ‘Fashion’ she is playing a role of a supermodel. ‘ Dostana’ is a comedy in which she teams up with Abhishekh Bachchan and John Abraham.

It will be a tough competition between the top three Bollywood heroines and it will be decided only after the release of the film that who has succeeded to take the more credit than his other competitors.

Mamta Mamta Banerjee is one of the most prominent Indian leaders of the present time. She is the only leader from West Bengal, who has challenged the three decades old communist rule in the state. It must be borne in mind that she had once defeated the most prominent CPI leader Somnath Chaterjee. In recently concluded state Panchayat elections she had defeated the ruling communist party  in the rural areas which are considered to be the later’s strong base. She has remained the Railway Minister of India during the rule of National Democratic Alliance government.

Career This firebrand woman leader was the youngest parliamentarians ever when was defeated the veteran communist leader Somnath Chaterjee in the Lok Sabha election in the year of 1984. She has been elected as a Member of Parliament form the state of West Bengal five times. Twice as a Congress member and trice as Trinamool Congress President. She was Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development, Youth Affairs and Sports, and Women and Child Development during the rule of Rao government but had resigned form the cabinet because of government’s callous attitude towards the development of the sports in India. During her political career as a Congress leader she has always remained in headlines because of the unorthodox methods of agitation. Some times she had insulted the Parliament Members inside the Parliament and had to face criticism for her actions.

Ties In the year of 1997 she deserted the Congress party  and formed her own party named All India Trinamool Congress.  Her party emerged the main opposition party in her home state which dared to challenge the thirty years of rule of the communist party. In the year of 1998 she allied with the NDA alliance and was given the charge of Railway Ministry. But in 2000 she snapped her ties with the NDA and formed an alliance with the Congress Party to contest the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Agitation After that she has focused mainly on the state politics. During this time she successfully opposed the state government’s moves of industrialization. The result was it that some foreign companies who had decided to invest huge amounts departed from the state. Though with this move she has won the support of some rural sections but it has gave a severe setback to the industrialization in the state. She is currently in news for her ongoing agitation against the Singur Tata Nano car plant. But this time she has put herself in a tight spot. If Tata shuts down the Nano production  plant, which it has threatened to do, it will result in a loss of thousands of direct and indirect jobs and which will eradicate her main urban vote bank. It will not end here because many other interested inverters will also prefer to invest in some other parts of the country.

Punjab Visit Rahul Gandhi, general secretary of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC), started his maiden Punjab visit by paying obeisance at the Golden Temple on September 22. His visit to the Temple was unscheduled and a very few people knew about it. Even SGPC did not know about his Temple visit. He stayed there for about half and hour and then went to his next destination. It is the tradition that the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee honors the visiting dignitaries with a Siropa (robe of honor). But for quite some time SGPC has not been honoring the opposition leaders. It must be borne in mind that his grand mother and former Prime Minister of India, Mrs Indra Gandhi had ordered the Operation Blue Star.

Bagh He refused to give answers to the various queries made by the media persons by saying that “I am here as a humble devotee and not to pose for photographs” as it is “a religious place I would prefer not to talk”. Later on he visited Jallianwalla Bagh and the Durgiana temple, the other two most visited places by the Indians in the Amritsar city. He was honored with a siropa by the head priest of the Durgiana temple.

Campaign Rahul Gandhi is on a three day visit to the states of Punjab and Haryana which is being considered the next phase of his “Discover India” program. He also visited a village fare and attended a games function in both the states. Under his leadership Congress has launched a campaign to increase its youth membership by encouraging the youths to take interest in the politics. After the Killing of former PM Rajiv Gandhi, Congress was lacking a charismatic leader. Gandhi family kept itself away from politics for some years. Thought after some years they started to took part in the national politics and led the Congress party to power again but their political base has been shrinking continually. A very few young people have joined the party in recent years. It had been completely wiped out of power even from those states that it had ruled for decades.

Planning Congress used to be one of the largest political party of India. But presently it is ruling the nation by forming an alliance with many regional parties. Congress wants to decrease its dependence on the regional parties for forming a government. For it Congress needs a wide spread network of its workers that can increase its support base and bring it back to power on its own. With this purpose Rahul Gandhi has launched a campaign and the current visit is another part of it.
