Vijender Singh to host international TV boxing reality show ‘The Contender’
Vijendra Singh (Viju) a name who gave the new reputation to Olympic Games in India is now going to host the show. Don’t get shocked, he is not going to host any Bollywood reality show. The show which he is about to host is based on the game boxing. Vijendra Singh came into news first when he won the bronze medal for India in Olympics. Before that the Indians are not so happy with their Olympic Games performance and so did not express their interest towards Olympic Games and only after that people even come to know that our participants participate in Olympic Games. Recently he again won a bronze medal in Milan. He is going to host the reality show ‘The Contender’. This show is inspired by the English version of the same.
Viju does it to promote boxing
According to Vijendra Singh the boxing is the game which is very much popular worldwide, but unfortunately, in India the situation is different. In India only a sport that is popular are cricket and other sports do not get so much popularity. He said the aim of hosting this show is to promote the boxing in India too and give the opportunity to the deserving candidates. He said he wants to take the show at another level where all show their craze about boxing also like for cricket. He also said that this show will telecast every week on TV channel very soon. This show also provides a new direction to the boxers to enter into the international competition.
About the Show
When Vijendra Singh (Viju) is asked about the show he simply said he said in this show I’ll guide the participants and motivate them. I will also do counseling of the participants to make them more confident. He also said that I’ll share my international experience with them which may be helping them in their future. Bulldog Media & Entertainment and Percept Pictures will co-produce this Indian version of ‘The Contender’. He also added that he was offered by many TV channels to host the reality show, but this show excited him very much as this show is related to boxing and through this show I am also able to promote this sport in India. I have got a good opportunity and don’t want to loose this opportunity. So I couldn’t reject this show and ready to host this one. He said this is one of the great opportunities to all those who wants to make their career in boxing sports and also want to show the world that Indians are not only best in cricket but also in boxing.
