Congress, NCP end deadlock over power sharing: Finally the day has come that Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) broke the deadlock over power sharing in Maharashtra. On Thursday November 5, 2009, Congress and NCP opened their decision paving for the way for new government. After a long discussion about this, Congress will get 22 ministries. According to DP Tripathi, after huge discussion, finally they came into decision that they will take 22 ministries. He told NCP will retain home, finance and portfolio. They have decided to give back NCP ministers same departments while on some other portfolios, there is still some discussion is continuing. This decision or negotiation is finished after a meeting between NCP leader and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Patel and chief minister Ashok Chavan.
Meeting at Sonia Gandhi resident: In the evening, the congress party has completed its meeting about the decision and other important matter regarding selection and country in residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi at 10, Janpath. According to defense minister A K Antony, we discussed a lot on all the circumstances and finally we have come to some decisions. Our negotiation regarding this is over now and we have settled each and everything and finally come to some conclusion. He also mentioned, the result will be declared tomorrow by the party and NCP members together. The result of the election was declared on October 22, 2009 and the development of that comes after 14 days of elections. Congress has emerged largest party in 288 members and securing 82 seats. NCP come after Congress by securing 62 seats.
Election result was in favor of Congress: The election result was good for Congress party as they got victory almost from all places. The congress party won the maximum seats from the three areas of India. In Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh, it got the complete victory. In Haryana the reaction was mixed and in some areas it has t face failure, but overall the result was in favor of Congress only. The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in the elections did not get many seats and lost from many places. The total seats secured by them are 46 only. Similarly the Shiv Sena got 44 seats and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won from 13 seats. This means ultimately the victory is in hand of Congress party. All the hard work and achievements of Congress party worked out and they got reward by getting one more chance to rule and make its government in India. No doubt, it’s a big achievement for Congress party and they are happy to get this chance. We just wish that in future they will also work like this for the sake of country.
