Gul Panag’s career mantra-the sensible Gul:  Gul Panag is one of those actresses of bollywood who follow their own criteria’s and layouts and love to do very few projects but can be remembered for the long time for their incredible performances. As per Gul Panag it is not important that how bigger is the Banner of the film or how big is the film’s budget, but its more important that what is the role and how important is that. As per her views sometimes even the big Names or budgeted films also remained un-successful to attract or gather the more crowd of audience, whereas some times low budgeted and ordinary production group may give good and long remembering films and projects. So, she has her own style, criteria and fundas to do the work in Industry, whatever she feels to be right she goes as per that only. As per Gul Panag, there are some people who do almost 20 movies in three years and they are remembered by the audience not more than a year even, but she however wishes to do comparatively lesser movies but to maintain better strike rate. She has always been preferred quality over quantity, so it is more important to do those movies which may be remembered up to the long years rather than those which cannot be even identified or remembered for a year even. Gul has been seen in eight movies only over the long years of her career and all of them are remembered for her performance like- Dhoop, Dor, Manorama Six Feet Under and her last project Anubhav.

Gul Panag’s Childhood and schooling:  Gul Panag was born on 3rd of January 1979 in Chandigarh. She is a former beauty queen who competed in the Miss Universe pageant. She started her education in Sangrur in Punjab. As her father was in Indian Army she had to move to the different places across India and abroad so as a result she studied in 14 schools including Kendriya Vidyalayas (Chandigarh, Leh, Mhow and Wellington in Tamil Nadu).She did her Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Punjab University, Patiala, Punjab and Masters Degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Chandigarh again. During her schooling only she was very much interested in sports and public speaking. She also had won the several state and national level debate competitions which includes two gold medals at the prestigious Annual National Inter University Debate Competition.

Gul Panag’s winning different crowns and titles: Gul Panag being a challenger had to work very hard but reached the destinations very smoothly with her good patience and talented nature. Gul had won the title of Miss India in the year of 1999 and also earned a crown of Miss Beautiful Smile at the same pageant. In the Contest of Miss Universe 1999, she couldn’t win the top rank but she was even then luckier as she was ranked among the Top ten contestants. She had been a very successful model and worked in several TV serials and advertisements. Her one of the famous TV serials is ‘Kashmeer’. Gul Panag also appeared on the front page of Maxim (magazine).

Panag’s Filmy Career:  Gul Panag started her career in films particularly in 2003, from the Debut Dhoop. From that film she continued at the path and did other remarkable and remember-able movies like ‘Jurm’ in 2005. She had won the appraisal of her strong role of Zeenat Fatima in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘DOR’, in the year of 2006. She is also one of the very talented actress like; Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and other hit actresses. Her next very popular film ‘ Manornama Six Feet under, was so successful that it was inspired by Chinatown film and earned very good public reviews. The year 2008 was the successful year for her as she worked in two films in that year, the films were – Hello and summer 2007.One more project of 2009 of Gul Panag is in line up that is ‘Straight’, which is a rectangular love story. She was nominated for the Star Dust awards Best Actress award In A Supporting Role (2009) for the film –Hello. She was also nominated for the Best Actress in a supporting Role in 2007 for the film DOR.
