KKR beats Rajasthan Royals: In 53rd match of Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Rajasthan Royals won the coin toss and elected to bat first but team failed to set a big target for the opponent team. Rajasthan Royals scored 132 runs in limited 20 over fixture losing nine wickets. In return Kolkata Knight Riders got the winning total after losing their 8 wickets when 23 balls were remaining to bowl. JD Unadkat was given man of the match award for his brilliant bowling performance in the match. It was sixth victory of KKR in third season. It was last league match of Rajasthan Royals and they have won 6 off their 14 league matches. They were winner of first season of IPL but they failed to enter into semi final even in this season while KKR is still left with one match and they still have some scope.

Rajasthan Royals innings: Shane Watson started the inning for Rajasthan Royals along with Naman Ojha. They made a partnership of 59 runs for first wicket. Team lost first wicket on third ball of eighth over as Shane Watson on the ball of Shukla. He played a brilliant inning of 44 runs off 26 balls with 7 fours and one six in his inning. In very next over, Naman Ojha was caught by Shukla on the ball of Unadkat, when he was at an individual score of 18 runs. Yusuf Pathan added eight runs off his bat and caught by Sourav Ganguly on the ball of Unadkat while AJ Finch added 21 runs. Other batsmen lost their wicket in single digit score except Fazal who scored 13 runs before losing his wicket during running between the wickets. At the end of 20 over, Rajasthan Royals were at total of 132 runs losing nine wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers did great job as they restricted opponent team on low score. JD Unadkat showed brilliant bowling performance and took three wickets giving 26 runs in his four over. Dinda took two wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders while Shane Bond, Murli Kartik and Shukla clinched one wicket each.

Kolkata Knight Riders innings: Rajasthan Royals set a target of 133 runs to win for Kolkata Knight Riders. Skipper Sourav Ganguly started the inning along with McCullum. Team lost their first wicket as McCullum when he was at an individual score of 6 runs while team had scored 21 runs in 2.3 over. He was caught by Shane Watson on the ball of Kamran Khan. Chris Gayle failed to open his run account even and lost his wicket on second ball he faced. Kamran Khan showed him way to pavilion on fifth ball of third over. Kolkata Knight Riders lost their two wickets at total of 22 runs but skipper was still in middle and Pujara also joined him to continue the campaign for the team to reach winning total. Both of them played brilliant inning, Sourav Ganguly playing a captain’s inning scored unbeaten 75 runs off 50 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes while Pujara scored unbeaten 45 runs off 38 balls with the help of five fours and one six. Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 8 wickets and kept their hopes alive to reach in semifinal. Kamran Khan got two wickets for Rajasthan Royals.
