Jab we met is a simple romantic comedy which was directed by Imtiaz Ali and distributed by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. The movie starred once real-life lovers Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor who ironically broke up during the making of the movie. The movie did commendable business at the box office and in overseas market which led to the marketing team’s decision to dub the movie in four Indian regional languages as well to promote viewership

This super hit film is the story of a Punjabi girl who is a very easy-to-go personality and socializes and befriends everyone quite easily. Shahid plays a depressed character planning to commit suicide when he bumps into her and both of their lives goes through a series of ups and downs during which they learn a lot from each other’s strengths. The sequence of events see them falling for each other but the ex-lover of Kareena also exists to create a triangle which later gets sorted out as the leads realize their true feelings.

The film was appreciated for its simplicity with all credits to the on screen chemistry between Shahid and Kareena which made such an impact on the viewers. The confidence with which portrayed her innocence and yet the gutsy nature to stand up for her mistakes speaks greatly of her acting prowess marking her entry in the top league.
Music director Pritam has done a great job and is believed to have produced soundtracks which cater to different audience segments and satisfying them. The film won numerous nominations and awards which includes Filmfare award for best actress and best dialogues.

Hum Tum is the Bollywood version of  “When Harry met Sally” where the encounters between a male and a female are shown over several years as their mutual feelings for each other ranges from hatred to respect, friendship to love and more. The movie has been very beautifully been modified to suit Indian viewers taste and Kunal Kohli did a commendable job as the director. Both the main leads of the story, Rani Mukerjee and Saif Ali Khan received Filmfare awards for their performance.

Saif’s role of a cartoonist was extended to a completely different level by picturing a few animated sequences in the movie to show the interactions between Rani and Saif. Services of Kathaa Animations were hired for the same with support from TATA group of companies. The variety offered with the time tested love story of Saif and Rani in the movie succeeded in wooing the audience as well as the critics. The movie won five Filmfare and one national award. The musical score of the movie was given by the duo of Jatin-Lalit and became quite popular courtesy smart marketing initiative involving leading music channels.

Hum Tum is not just a romantic story but also, can be considered a story of relations as it captures the relation between a father and a son (Rishi Kapoor and Saif), a mother and a daughter (Kirron Kher and Rani) among others in great details. The importance of communication in relations in our daily life becomes the highlight as the movie approaches its end when Saif and Rani lose a few years together despite loving each other for lack of a confession between the two regarding their feelings.

Cold War It is the known truth that after the cold war between Bachchans and Shahrukh Khan, Indian Film Industry has been wedged in two camps. Rally 53 years old south Indian film super star Chiranjeevi launched his political party ‘Praja Rajyam’ in a massive rally held in the temple city named Tirupati of the state of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, August 26. Lakhs of his fans and supporters had gathered at the venue hours before the arrival of their reel hero before them in the real life. More than 4 lakh people had gathered at the venue by 3:30 pm while the announcement was made in the evening. By the evening almost all he roads leading to the city were full with the Chiranjeevi supporters. When the sun was setting a sun was rising in the state politics.

Announcement Chiranjeevi had announced his future plans of entering into the politics on August 17. Since then a lot of political changes happened in state politics. Many Telugu Desam Party and Congress leaders had expressed their willingness to join the super star’s party. Mammoth public gathering on the meeting venue has sent red signals to the Telugu Desam Party and Congress and has also projected Chiranjeevi as a hot choice for the chief ministerial ship. After a long speech of two hours he announced the name of the party and a handicapped youth unfurled the party’s green and while flag with a red sun in the middle.

Speech In his speech he expressed his commitment to socialism and empowerment of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society. In a carefully drawn speech he touched almost all the issue that are being confronted by the state. He opposed the Special Economic Zones by saying that land is meant for cultivation and the advocated that farmer should have the right to decide the price of the land. He also favored the formation of separate Telangana state but said that priority should be given to end the backwardness of the region. He also talked about the Maoist problem and its remedies.

Policies He did not attack any individual or any party during his speech and used symbolism effectively to tell about the party policies and also to demolish the policies of present state government. He also favored the industrialization and strengthening of the state irrigation system. He has announced that his party will be progressive and democratic.

Shahrukh Vs Bachchans Recent incidents indicate that Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan who projects himself as the new King of Bollywood is slowly and steadily heading towards bad times. First is his spat between him and Amitabh Bachchan that remained for many days into the headlines. Shahrukh Vs Bharat But the worst was yet to follow when a Mumbai court responding to veteran actor Manoj Kumar’s petition ordered to Shahrukh and film director Farah Khan to delete a scene form there picture Om Shanti Om in which Manoj Kumar has been mimicked. It must be noted that producer Yash Chopra has acted as mediator between Manoj Kumar and director Farha Khan and had assured him that the scene will be deleted before the film is released. But it did not happened. Now court has given its judgment in favor of Manoj Kumar who has planed to file a defamation suit against Shahrukh’s Red Chillies Productions and director Gauri Khan who had not kept their promise.

According to the plot of the film, the villain named  Sultan first sets of low-intensity bombs in the city  and when injured are brought to the hospital a much bigger blast is triggered. Exactly same has happened in Ahmadabad. It indicates that militants were influence  by the plot of the film.

Incident 20 years old Ishmeet Singh Sodhi, who had shot to fame after winning the reality TV show ‘Voice of India’ on Star, met a tragiv end when he got drowned in a swimming pool under mysterious circumstances in Maldives. Ishmeet had won the contest in November. He had gone to Maldives to perform in a show . He was staying in a hotel in Maldives. It is being said that he had gone to the hotel’s swimming pool with his friends where he, unfortunately fell into the deep of the pool and drowned. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared brought dead.

Music Industry Who ever heard the news was shocked and saddened by the tragic end that Ishmeet met. Only last years , people from all walks of life-friends, relatives, fans, Sikh community and especialy Punjabies from all of the world had led a campaign and proudly and unabashedly voted in favor of Ishmeet singh that made him the winner of the TV show.The news of his death spread in his home town like the wildfire. No one believed the news first but atlast accepted the end of the melodious vioce. Bollywood too was deeply shocked by the news. Abhijeet Bhattacharya deeply shocked by the news said ,”I don’t know how to react, he was like my son. I can’t believe that Ishmeet is no more.”

Life He had given up his studies and had gone against the wishes of his parents to attend the show. He was from a simple middle class family of singers.He has learnt singing from the very tender age. The nighingale of India who himself had presented the winning award to budding singer after the final of the show has expressed ‘ deep shock’. He was honoured by the a Sikh NGO named Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle with the award of Young Sikh Star of Punjab at Harmander Sahib, Amritsar. He had participated in another singing compitition named “Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar” but was eliminated from the show on June 20, 2008. He had gone to Maldives to perform for a permotional even but met the tragedy that has left everyone shocked and saddened.

Release Both the much awaited films Aamir Khan’s JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA and Harry Baweja’s LOVE STORY 2050 hit the screens in less than 24 hours. Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na is released with 473 prints worldwide, which includes 282 analog prints, 81 digital screens and 110 prints overseas. It opened in theatres on June 3. While Jaane Tu… is being promoted as Imran’s debut film, his first appearance in front of the camera was with Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. In that blockbuster, he had played Aamir’s character as a child. Mansoor Khan-helmed QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK, starring two newcomers Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, was focused on teenage love, with parental opposition acting as an obstacle.

Story JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA is a love story as well, but the execution of the subject makes all the difference to the similar love stories made in the past. Basically it is a simple tale about a group of friends, it focuses on one couple that’s in love, but is in a state of denial. There is a girl rich, tongue-in-cheek, dominant and aggressive and the boy has had a middle class upbringing and is submissive, soft-spoken and calm. Story and Technology Sun Microsystems is the technology partner for the movie, which is directed by Harry Baweja. ‘Love Story 2050′ marks the company’s first association with the Indian Film Industry. The film, a love story between Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra set against a sci-fi backdrop, makes extensive use of technology and special effects in creating a time machine which transports the characters to Mumbai in the year 2050 with flying cars, 200 storied buildings, robots and sky rails. A robot, in the film, will also be seen playing a major role along with a computer-generated teddy bear, which appears to be more than just a toy. All eyes are now set on ‘Love Story 2050’ when audience will see its hero and its lovable teddy bear.

Joint Venture Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s home banner A B Corp has entered into Rs. 1500-crore joint venture with RBE, which would include film production, reality shows, TV serials and internet and mobile content. This news has come after the news came in that Anil Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment is in talks with Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks SKG for an investment of around $500 million in equity. With the latest development Ambani has moved a step closer to building a media group spanning -

Projects “Four directors have been short listed for projects which will go on the floor beginning 2008-end. A few other projects are at the consideration stage and will be announced shortly,” Wing commander P Ramesh, CEO of A B Corp told. To kick start the joint venture of the two stalwarts from the entertainment and business fields four directors-Rohan Sippy, Sujoy Ghosh, Chandraprakash Dwivedi and Balki-have been selected. It is said that Reliance Big Entertainment and A B Corp are equal partners in the film production in terms of creative input and finance. The Bachchan family will provide all the creative inputs while RBE will take care of the managerial, marketing and distribution of the projects.

Hollywood RBE earlier had this year had entered into agreements with Hollywood stars George Clooney, Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey, Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt and moviemakers Chris Columbus and Jay Roach. From these developments one can expect that both the film industries coming closer and even working together. It would be a milestone for efforts by the Reliance Big Entertainment to bring the world’s two most prolific movie-making industries closer together.
